Tasked with replacing 20+ year old legacy tools, my role was to redesign and modernize industry-leading HVAC & Chiller design software. These new 3D design platforms makes accurately sizing HVAC & Chiller systems faster and easier at any desired level of fidelity. The result is a platform that makes right sizing HVAC & Chiller systems intuitive and visually dynamic with an easy to understand workflow that's less error prone.
As design and drafting software, these tools consist of custom 3D rendering, numerous design features, tools that allow the user to accomplish complex configurations, and strict engineering rules that guide the user through their process.
I worked closely with engineering stakeholders to define the technical requirements for each feature within the tool. Through UX workshops, user testing sessions, refined prototypes, and development collaboration, these tools launched in the market in 2022.
